This Westside luncheon is generously hosted by Caltech Trustee Fred (BS '62) and Joyce Hameetman, Caltech Associates Board Member. Microbes inhabit just about every part of the human body, and trillions of these bacteria are found within the gastrointestinal tract. It is no surprise that these microbes influence digestion, allergies, and metabolism, but their reach may extend further, into the brain. Learn how Professor Mazmanian is investigating this connection and how the ecosystem of bacteria in our gut may play a role in autism, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and other conditions.
For inquiries, please contact Ruby Rico with the Caltech Associates office at email@example.com or (626) 395-6392.
